Jacqui Ertischek

Do you ever hear that special laugh that you instantly recognize? Well, my friend, Jacqui, is the owner of such a distinctive laugh and, at times and though it is contained a bit, it is heartwarming, engaged and inviting.  She has that special spark that flashes her wisdom and generosity.  You always know you will find fun, good conversation and a zest for new adventures. I also know that one of these days the full laughter will boom forth and I hope on that day that I can keep the roof on the gallery. You just have to meet her!

Her interest in art began early and she studied art at Boston University. While in Anchorage she completed a degree in Art Psychology and Education and was a counselor at a local high school with the Indian Ed program for nearly twenty years. As an artist, she worked in polymer clay and had a successful jewelry and print business where she showed her work at the Buyers’ Market of American Crafts as well as the Museum Store Association Expo. She also developed products for the Anchorage Museum and the Alaska Native Heritage Center.

Georgia Blue

Georgia is the “best” of best friends. Ask any of her friends, and she has lots, and they would agree. She is fun to be with, creative, and always has time for you, even when she really doesn’t. For many artists in Alaska and beyond, she is the reason they have been successful. She truly understands us artsy-fartsy types and encourages us to be better than we are. She has a fabulous reputation for nuturing and encouraging new artists to achieve their potential and is well loved because of that rare quality. Her extensive knowledge of art and artists will make this gallery a fun and fabulous place to be.

Georgia received her education at the University of Washington in Art History. She came to Alaska in 1976 and ran 2 galleries, Art, Inc. and The Stonington Gallery as well as working at the Alaska State Council for the Arts. For the last 20 years has been the Enterprise Director at the Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center., creating one of the finest museum shops in the country.
